About this postcard
Color view of the Tracy Inn Hotel, a long two-story white stucco building with a red tile roof, arched ground-floor windows with red-and-white striped awnings, and an American flag flying from a rooftop cupola under a pastel sky. A vertical "Tracy Hotel" sign hangs on the facade. The printed caption places it on Highway 50 in Tracy, California, and advertises a coffee shop, tavern, air conditioning, and free parking. Those amenities were practical draws for motorists on the Highway 50 corridor through the San Joaquin Valley. The message on the back records a breakfast of fresh strawberries and cream, ham, eggs, potatoes, toast, and coffee, then 10:30 Mass at St. Bernard's, with statues of St. Bernard, the Sacred Heart, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Queen of Heaven and St. Joseph, a blessing for mothers with small children, and a girls' choir.
