About this postcard
A sales reply form from Trans-Lux Daylight Picture Screen, Inc., asking a prospective customer to check interest in opaque projection, a sales demonstration, stereopticon projection, and motion picture projection on the Trans-Lux Screen. The blanks for name, town, state, date, and electric current gather what a salesman would need to arrange a demonstration. Opaque projection used reflected light from solid objects, while stereopticon projection used glass lantern slides. Trans-Lux was founded in New York in 1920 and became known for daylight-viewing projection screens and later for electronic ticker displays. The form reflects an era when projection equipment was sold through mailed inquiries and in-person demonstrations for schools, theaters, and businesses.
