About this postcard

A large tree trunk dominates the left foreground of a shaded campus lawn, with a pink-blossomed tree and darker foliage behind it and a low fence or hedge in the middle distance. The card names the site as the Iowa College campus in Grinnell, Iowa. Iowa College was founded at Grinnell in 1846 by Congregationalists and was renamed Grinnell College in 1909, so the printed name dates this view to the college's earlier era.
