About this postcard

The view looks along the Cody Road where it passes through the rock-cut triple tunnels of Shoshone Canyon, with a stone-arched bore in the foreground, rugged canyon walls beyond, and blue water at the right. The tunnels were built in the 1930s on the highway between Cody, Wyoming, and the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park, carrying travelers along the Shoshone River gorge. The card presents the landmark as the gateway to the park.
