About this postcard

Black-and-white view of the triple underpass where Commerce, Main and Elm streets pass beneath the Union Terminal railroad tracks west of downtown Dallas, with the city's office towers rising behind. The three arched openings carry the streets under the embankment, and the broad approach ramps converge in the foreground. Completed in 1936 as part of the Dealey Plaza gateway to the new Union Station, the underpass became a well-known Dallas landmark and the setting of President Kennedy's motorcade route in 1963.
