About this postcard

A shaded woodland trail winds between tall conifers and low green undergrowth, with a bright clearing visible farther down the path. The view is identified as Turner's Path to Mt. Agassiz at Bethlehem in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Bethlehem was a summer resort town in the White Mountains, and its trails drew walkers and guests from the cities. The message adds a personal note to the outing: Uncle Lawrence wrote after taking the walk, saying he thought of his niece and her mother while at the observatory and wished they were with him, though the climb was long and hard.
