A small rowboat carrying two figures crosses a calm lake at sunset, with layered purple mountains rising behind and dark wooded shores on either side; the sky glows orange and pink above a green-tinted band of clouds. The scene is a generic picturesque alpine-lake view rather than an identifiable landmark, of the kind widely produced for the greeting and souvenir trade in the early 20th century. No caption or imprint on the front identifies the location.
