Two-story log house with twin chimneys in a rural valley, circa 1910

About this postcard

A drawing of a long, two-story log or clapboard house with a gabled end, shuttered windows, two doors on the front facade and two brick chimneys, set on a slope with hills rising behind and trees framing the view at left and right. The building's hewn-log construction, small-paned windows and simple rectangular plan suggest an early-19th-century American farm or tavern house. No caption or imprint identifies the structure, so the scene is best treated as an unattributed view of a historic rural dwelling.
