About this postcard
The Tyler Davidson Fountain stands on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, its central Genius of Water figure rising above tiered basins and smaller sculptural groups. Downtown buildings, trees, and pedestrians fill the surrounding square, and a Mabley & Carew sign marks the nearby department store. Dedicated in 1871, the fountain was a gift from Henry Probasco in memory of his business partner Tyler Davidson. By the early 1900s, Fountain Square was the commercial heart of Cincinnati, with department stores and street traffic around the monument.
