About this postcard
A single-story red brick post office with a green hipped roof, arched white-trimmed windows and a central entrance, an American flag flying from a pole above the roofline; the words "UNITED STATES POST OFFICE" are lettered across the facade. Norwalk, the seat of Huron County in northern Ohio, received federal post office buildings of this modest Colonial Revival style in the early 20th century. The card is a linen-textured view of the interwar period, when such civic buildings were standard subjects for local postcard publishers.
