About this postcard
Five people pose at the rough stone arch entrance to Lost River Cave in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Uncle Bill, a Black guide in a cap and jacket, stands at the left with a cane. Three young women and an older man in a fedora and overcoat are grouped beside him, and several hold ice cream cones. Signs above the opening read "Lost River Cave" and "Near Jesse James Hide Out." The caption says Uncle Bill has just returned with his party from a trip through the cave, a guided outing at a Kentucky cave attraction. The Jesse James sign points to the local legend that the outlaw used the area as a hideout.
