The Pennsylvania Railroad's Union Station dominates the view, its brick headhouse and arched entrance set against an industrial hillside with a tall smokestack rising behind. The terminal had opened only a few years earlier as the PRR's Pittsburgh station, and the printed caption keeps the spelling Pittsburg, the city's official form from 1891 until 1911.
A traveler sent the card to parents in East Cleveland, Ohio, reporting a smooth trip and a safe arrival: "Got here all right. Had a fine ride."
