The photograph shows the Unitarian Memorial Church in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, a Gothic Revival stone church with a tall corner tower, pinnacles, and pointed-arch windows, seen from the street through bare deciduous trees. Henry Huttleston Rogers, a Fairhaven native and Standard Oil executive, funded the church as a memorial to his mother, Mary Huttleston Rogers. Architect Charles Brigham designed it, and it was completed in 1904. The building is one of several civic landmarks Rogers gave the town, and it was only two years old in 1906.
