About this postcard
A black-and-white photograph shows a small white frame church with a square tower, louvered belfry, and corner pinnacles. A gabled entry porch and a multi-pane window face the camera, partly shaded by large trees. The tower and pinnacles give the frame building a Gothic Revival accent. Tobermory sits at the tip of Ontario's Bruce Peninsula, a harbor town shaped by lake traffic and fishing. The United Church of Canada had formed in 1925 from a union of Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational congregations, and small communities often worshiped in plain frame churches like this one. The sender writes of being "Up in the North Country once more," finding it grand and cool, and wishes the recipients were along.
