About this postcard
The Utah State Capitol is shown from below, its long Neoclassical facade of columns and cornice topped by a ribbed copper dome, with an American flag on a pole at left and a curving drive, lawns, shrubs and a small pond in the foreground. The building, designed by architect Richard K.A. Kletting in the neoclassical revival style, was completed in 1916 on Capitol Hill overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. The number 9A-H2203 in the corner is a Curt Teich production code typical of linen-era cards made around 1940.
