About this postcard
A shaded park scene at Holly Park in Mount Holly Springs, Pennsylvania, with tall trees around a small stone-lined pond or stream. Rustic wooden rail fences and a footbridge cross the water, and a bench sits on the far bank among the trees; a building is partly visible through the foliage at left. Mount Holly Springs sits at the foot of South Mountain in Cumberland County, near Carlisle, and the park view fits the borough's role as a local outing spot in the early 1900s. The message on the back describes a quiet Sunday in June 1911: the writer has slept and read, is alone while H. works, and plans to attend children's service that evening.
