About this postcard

A view across the lawns of McKinley Park in Tacoma, Washington, where pale gravel walks curve between clumps of trees, shrubs, and beds of red flowers. Wooded slopes and a few houses rise on the ridge above. The park was named for President William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901, and in the early 1900s Tacoma's public parks offered shaded walks and formal plantings in a growing port city.
