About this postcard

A winding gravel drive through the lawns and trees of Seneca Park, with strollers and cyclists in early-1900s dress gathered along the path and a horse-drawn carriage further up the road; a pond or stretch of water and wooded hills close the view. Seneca Park, laid out along the Genesee River in the 1890s to designs associated with Frederick Law Olmsted's firm, was one of Rochester's principal pleasure grounds and a popular promenade for bicyclists of the era.
