About this postcard

A winding gravel drive through Seneca Park in Rochester, N.Y., with strollers and cyclists in period dress gathered along the path and a horse-drawn carriage farther up the road. Lawns and mature trees frame the scene, and a pond or stretch of water and wooded hills close the view. Seneca Park, laid out along the Genesee River in the 1890s as part of Rochester's Olmsted park system, was one of the city's principal pleasure grounds and a popular promenade for cyclists and carriage parties.
