About this postcard

Rocky gap framing Harney Peak in the Black Hills, with a wooden sign in the foreground and a road or path leading into pine forest. The caption gives the summit as 7,242 feet and calls it the highest peak east of the Rockies and west of the Alleghenies. Harney Peak, renamed Black Elk Peak in 2016, is the high point of the Black Hills and a landmark of the region's pine-covered granite country.
