View on Muskingum River, Marietta, OH, circa 1907

Real photo

About this postcard

The view looks down the Muskingum River at Marietta, with a large factory complex on the left bank, railroad tracks along the near shore, and farmland and wooded hills receding in the distance. Marietta grew at the confluence of the Muskingum and Ohio rivers, and the Muskingum was long a working river for freight and passenger traffic; the tracks along the bank show river and rail sharing the same corridor.
