The view looks toward a low dam on the Lemonweir River at New Lisbon, Wisconsin. The dam has several gates and a railing or walkway along its crest; trees line both banks, and steps lead down to the water on either side. New Lisbon is a small city in Juneau County on the Lemonweir River. Low dams like this were common in Wisconsin river towns, where they supplied water power for mills and small local industry.
