The card shows the main building of Virginia Christian College in Lynchburg, Virginia: a large light-colored structure with twin conical turrets flanking a steep central gable, deep verandas running along the ground floor, and a broad lawn in front. The college was founded in 1903 under Dr. Josephus Hopwood and was renamed Lynchburg College in 1919, later becoming the University of Lynchburg. The printed caption names the institution as it was known in the first two decades of the twentieth century.
