A monochrome view across a broad sheet of water toward a rugged, rocky shoreline backed by steep, snow-flecked or light-toned mountain slopes; low rocky islets break the surface in the foreground. The card's own caption names the scene simply "Wachant Rock." The photograph is printed in a grainy, high-contrast photomechanical process typical of early twentieth-century view cards, and no further identification of the site is printed on the front.
Scan is rotated 180 degrees; the printed caption sits upside down at the top of the image. A single printed letter "E" appears in one corner. Monochrome print with light surface wear, a faint crease and a smudge near the lower edge.
Postmark: BOSTON MASS. STATION 3 MAR 19 18-30A 07. Undivided back with red "Post Card" heading and "THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS."; 1¢ green Franklin (Series 1902) stamp; publisher imprint printed in Saxony; light edge wear and a small crease at right.
