About this postcard

The Waltham Canoe Club boathouse stands on the bank of the Charles River, its long veranda facing the water and a tall flagpole reflected below. A canoe with two paddlers crosses the river at left, while wooded banks frame the right side. Canoe clubs along the Charles were part of the area's early 20th century recreation scene, when paddling and riverside clubhouses were popular local pastimes.
