About this postcard

The ruined stone walls of Waltham Palace stand among trees, their arched openings reflected in the moat or pond in the foreground. Waltham Palace was a residence of the bishops of Winchester, and its medieval buildings later fell into ruin, leaving the weathered walls and arches seen here near Bishops Waltham.
