About this postcard

The upper view looks east from Liberty Park over its water and trees to the snow-streaked Wasatch Range, with a small cluster of buildings among the trees at the shoreline. Below, Antelope Island appears as a dark silhouette on the Great Salt Lake at sunset, seen from Saltair Beach. Liberty Park, laid out in 1882, was one of Salt Lake City's main public grounds; Saltair, opened in 1893 on the lake's south shore, was a popular lakeside resort. Antelope Island, the lake's largest island, was then a privately held ranch and is now a state park. A note signed Nat is a lonely greeting: "Your sister is thinking of you tonight. Wish I could see you - I get so lonely."
