About this postcard
A crowded beach scene at Cedar Point, Ohio, with bathers wading in the lake at left while spectators in hats and long dresses watch from a raised wooden boardwalk and pavilion at right, one sign reading "BATHING TICKETS." Cedar Point, on a peninsula jutting into Lake Erie near Sandusky, was already a popular lakeside resort by the early 1900s, drawing excursion steamers and day-trippers to its beach, bathhouse and amusement attractions. The card's red caption and pastel coloring are typical of the color lithographed view cards of the era.
