About this postcard

The Wayne County Court House in Richmond, Indiana, is a rough-cut stone Romanesque Revival building with a tall corner tower, steep pyramidal roof, and a large arched window over the main gable. Bare trees and a cast-iron fence line the sidewalk, where pedestrians in early-1900s dress pass in front of the courthouse. Cincinnati architect James W. McLaughlin designed the building, completed in the early 1890s, and it remains the seat of Wayne County government. The writer's note on October 30, 1906, says the sender was "very near inside of this building" and "on a nice sidewalk."
