A street view of the Wayne County Court House in Richmond, Indiana, a massive rough-cut stone building in Romanesque Revival style, dominated by a tall corner tower with a steep pyramidal roof and a large arched window over the main gable. Bare trees and a cast-iron fence line the sidewalk, where a number of pedestrians in early-1900s dress are walking. The courthouse, designed by Cincinnati architect James W. McLaughlin, was completed in the early 1890s and remains the seat of Wayne County government.
