About this postcard

The Wescott Hotel stands at the corner of Tenth and Main streets in downtown Richmond, Indiana, a five-story brick building with a rounded corner turret. Storefronts and awnings fill the ground floor, including one marked "Fletcher Hardware Co." Utility poles and wires cross the foreground. In 1906 Richmond was a railroad and manufacturing center, and a corner hotel like the Wescott served commercial travelers and visitors to the downtown business district.
