Wesley Avenue runs past the Lakeside Inn, a two-story white clapboard building with a "LAKESIDE INN" sign and window boxes of red flowers. An open touring car and an older dark sedan are parked or moving along the street, and a man and a small child walk the sidewalk. Silver Lake was a summer resort community in western New York, and the scene shows the ordinary mix of pedestrians and automobiles on a resort avenue in the early 1930s.
