West College and Old College, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee, circa 1906

About this postcard

A black-and-white view of two brick college buildings at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville: the long three-story West College at left, labeled "WEST COLLEGE" on its facade, and the square Old College at right, topped by a small cupola tower marked "'07." A shed-like open structure stands in the left foreground. West College and Old College were among the earliest buildings of East Tennessee University (later the University of Tennessee), which occupied the site after 1869; the tower date refers to the class of 1907.
