White Rocks, Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, circa 1910

Card type
Lithograph

About this postcard

A view across a jumble of dark, seaweed-covered boulders toward calm water, with a low cluster of shoreline buildings and a flagpole on the horizon at left. The card names the spot as White Rocks at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, a popular summer resort on the state's short Atlantic coast near the Massachusetts line. The tinted, slightly grainy rendering is typical of the color lithograph postcards sold at New England beach resorts in the first decades of the twentieth century.
