A view along Wild Cat Creek near Lafayette, Indiana, where the shallow, sand-barred stream winds between dense banks of summer trees. The card's own caption names the creek, a tributary of the Wabash River that drains much of Tippecanoe County and was a familiar local picnic and outing spot in the early 20th century. The tinted halftone rendering gives the water a pale, almost bleached look against the deep green foliage.
