About this postcard

The card pictures the Will Rogers Memorial, also known as the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, a stone tower on Cheyenne Mountain above Colorado Springs, with a stone gateway, winding wall, and a parked vintage automobile in the foreground. Completed in 1937 by Spencer Penrose as a tribute to humorist Will Rogers, the memorial overlooks the city and the plains. The linen-era view likely dates from the 1940s.
