A dirt road runs straight away from the viewer beneath a dense double arch of willows, their branches meeting overhead; a bicycle leans against a trunk on the left verge. The caption names the spot as Willow Road in Annisquam, the old fishing village at the northern edge of Gloucester, Massachusetts, on Cape Ann. By the early 1900s Annisquam had become a summer colony of cottages and shaded lanes, and willow-lined roads like this one were a favorite scenic subject for Cape Ann photographers and postcard publishers.
White border at bottom carrying the printed caption in red; card number 6702 and a letter 'A' at lower right. Light edge and corner wear.
