A shaded dirt road runs straight away from the viewer beneath a dense double arch of willows, their branches meeting overhead to form a green tunnel; a bicycle leans against a trunk on the left verge. The card names the spot as Willow Road in Annisquam, the old fishing village on the northern edge of Gloucester, Massachusetts, a summer resort area on Cape Ann. Such willow-lined lanes were a favorite scenic subject for Cape Ann photographers and postcard publishers in the early 20th century.
White border at bottom carrying the printed caption in red; card number 6702 and a letter 'A' at lower right. Light edge and corner wear.
Postmark: BOSTON MASS. BACK BAY STA. APR 15 9 PM (flag cancel: BACK BAY STATION 2; receiving dial: AMESBURY MASS. 8-30A 1907). Undivided back with 'THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS.', 1¢ green Franklin adhesive, Metropolitan News Co. imprint; light edge wear and a crease at lower right.
