A tinted view of a curving park drive at sunset, with a horse-drawn carriage rolling along the road at right, a broad lawn and scattered trees at left, and a low tree line under a yellow-and-orange sky. The caption names the spot as Cherokee Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Cherokee Park was laid out in the 1890s by Frederick Law Olmsted's firm as part of Louisville's Olmsted-designed park system along Beargrass Creek, and its scenic loop drives were a favorite subject for local postcard publishers in the early 20th century.
White border along the bottom carrying the printed caption; tinted lithographic/halftone printing with a fine screen visible; light edge wear, no publisher imprint on front.
Postmark: SOMERVILLE MASS NOV 22 4 PM 1906 (partly obscured by the printed POST CARD). Undivided back with "This Side for the Address Only." and publisher imprint "17-2 Illustrated Postal Card Co. New-York-Leipzig" along the left edge; 1¢ Franklin stamp affixed. Light soiling/toning, corner wear.
