A monochrome drawing of a small child's head, hair tousled, mouth stretched wide in a huge yawn, with a lit candle in a low candlestick sketched beside it. Flowing copperplate-style calligraphy frames the figure with the joking lines "Everybody seems / Dreamland / But You! and I," a typical turn-of-the-century comic greeting sent to a night owl or late riser. Cards of this style, printed in a single ink on cream stock, were common in the undivided-back era before 1907.
