Young man helps girl down from tree, Buffalo, NY, 1911

Card type
Printed photo

About this postcard

A young man in a dark suit and cap stands beneath a large tree, reaching up to help a smiling young woman in a white blouse and dark skirt down from a branch. A grove of trees fills the background, suggesting a park or a country outing. The printed line "You are a nice kid and I like you" turns the scene into a light romantic joke, the sort of comic postcard that used staged outdoor encounters for gentle flirtation in the early twentieth century.
